RESTON, Va.; August 23, 2023 – Integrated Media Publishing has named Core4ce Vice President Joann Elkin a 2023 SC Women in Business Honoree. The annual award honors selected businesswomen across South Carolina based on career achievements, contributions to their company, and community involvement.
Integrated Media Publishing – which owns and operates Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, and Charleston Business Magazine – hosted an awards luncheon to recognize this year’s honorees on August 17 in Greenville, SC. Members of Core4ce’s executive team, including Chief Executive Officer Jack Wilmer, Chief Accounting Officer Bryant Thrift, Chief Information and Data Officer Shane Breland, and Managing Partner Michael Morehouse, attended the luncheon to celebrate Elkin’s achievement.
“Joann’s financial expertise, combined with her unwavering dedication to her colleagues, make her an invaluable asset to our organization,” said Wilmer. “Core4ce would not be the company we are today, nor as well-positioned for future growth, without Joann’s leadership.”
As Vice President, Corporate Controller at Core4ce, Elkin oversees financial operations, manages accounting staff, and supports nearly 500 employees within the company. Elkin, who is based out of Core4ce’s Charleston, SC office, is among the earliest members of the corporate team and played an instrumental role in building the company from the ground up, overcoming unique challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Joann not only mentors and guides the members of her team, she also serves as a strategic advisor to our most senior executives, ensuring that Core4ce is poised to succeed and take care of our employees,” said Morehouse.
In a July profile for Charleston Business Magazine, Elkin noted that her effectiveness as a leader is tied to her ability to be kind, listen to people, and help others do their best.
